Leadership Training for the New Millennium:
Learning Practical Tools and Strategies for Success

Improve with Dramasports Improv: A dynamic approach to Team Building, Communication Skills Training, Shared Creativity, and Stress Management.

The modern management approach tends to be people-oriented and promotes the involvement of the entire workforce in group interaction, multiple task roles, and proactive participation in decision-making processes. We all agree that in today’s rapidly changing and globally expanding economy and intense business environment, cutting-edge leaders are fully aware that organization wide-change cannot be confined to upgrading their high-tech infrastructure and gadgets. They understand that their most important asset is their people. They know that any effective, meaningful, and lasting positive change in their organization depends on the active participation of each member. Knowing that any positive change is a process, they desire to provide the kind of work environment that encourages and promotes the betterment of people and their growth at personal and professional levels alike. Therefore, these leaders always seek a kind of staff performance training that focuses on a wide spectrum of useful practical tools, usable skills, and meaningful strategies. In recent years, in the area of staff performance training, more and more leaders are discovering that custom-designed and participatory training programs give more concrete results than motivational public lectures or intellectually stimulating private discussions. Among these well tested approaches and powerful training tools are, specific applications of improvisational theater technique, and the principles of the F. M. Alexander Technique.

Communication Skills Training and
Team Building Workshops:
Change From The Inside Out

Life is not reheased. Most of us are trained to control and hide our emotions and behave in a professional fashion. Obviously, as professionals, we have emotions too. These feelings and emotions are critical components of our everyday conversations. Recent studies indcate that unexpressed emotions leak into conversations, take a toll out of our self-esteem and relationships, and make it difficult for us to listen to what the other person is saying. Improv-based training is one of the most effective and efficient ways to help people discover the dynamics of human interactions and learn how to help to create positive outcomes in everyday communications. In addition, improv-based participatory approach utilizes improvisational and simulation techniques to teach team building, conflict resolution strategies, communication skills, and creative problem solving. This format is gaining popularity in the business community world wide due to its effectiveness, interactive nature, and its adaptability in meeting the needs of organizations. This experiential learning - under the disguise of make believe and play is a natural vehicle that helps participants utilize this dimension of drama and opens them to experience a wider range of roles and possibilities that are hard to encounter in an everyday work environment. Ironically, since everyone is operating under “make-believe” scenarios, everyone willingly, in a synergistic way, takes part in creating various powerful metaphors. The process is fail-free and is subliminal learning at its best. It utilizes Multiple Intelligences and is highly effective in terms of usefulness. It appeals to participants at all levels in an organization.

Why experiential learning is so important?

Play is a primal form of kinesthetic learning. Psychologists and educators are recognizing how this experiential and creative process is one of the most effective forms of education possible. Through using powerful learning-by-doing improv theater techniques and its derivates such as simulations, enactments, and role playing, participants learn many practical tools and strategies like team building skills, creative problem solving, conflict resolution, shared creativity skills, and communication skills. Participants learn how they can stay proactive and arrive at positive outcomes in their interpersonal / organizational communications regardless of the quality of the senders’ message. Since improvisation has to do with spontaneous creation and self revelation, any well-designed and tailor-made training session provides the most non-threatening environment for those who usually don’t speak up when maybe they should. Most importantly, participants are motivated to take risks and find out how through teamwork they can create new alternatives. This mind-body learning
